ENQA

ENQA is the European umbrella organisation for quality assurance agencies in higher education.
Founded in 2000, it is based in Brussels.

ENQA promotes cooperation and exchange among quality assurance agencies across Europe. Its aim is to support the continuous enhancement of quality in higher education.

ENQA supports its members through advice, professional development and opportunities for peer learning. A key reference point is the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) for quality assurance.

ENQA has more than 60 member quality assurance agencies from across the European Higher Education Area.
ENQA contributes to the further development of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

The organisation represents the interests of its members vis-à-vis European institutions and stakeholders.
Through reviews and peer learning, ENQA strengthens the professionalism and independence of quality assurance.

ENQA therefore makes an important contribution to trust, transparency and quality in European higher education.

ECA (European Consortium for Accreditation)

ECA, the European Consortium for Accreditation in Higher Education, is a European network of quality assurance and accreditation agencies.
It was founded in 2003 to strengthen cooperation between accreditation organizations in Europe.

A central aim is to promote mutual trust in the quality assurance systems of member organizations. ECA supports the mutual recognition of accreditation and quality assurance decisions. ECA promotes the exchange of experience, methods, and innovative approaches in quality assurance.

Of particular importance is cooperation in cross-border quality assurance and accreditation.

The network develops common principles and instruments to improve quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area.
ECA works closely with European and international stakeholders in the higher education sector.

EQAR (European Quality Assurance Register)

EQAR is the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education.
It was established in 2008 by European stakeholders in quality assurance.

Its aim is to enhance transparency and strengthen the quality of quality assurance in higher education. The Register lists quality assurance agencies that comply with the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG).

Inclusion in the Register is based on an external review of the agency by ENQA. EQAR therefore contributes to building trust among higher education institutions, students and other stakeholders.

The Register supports the mutual recognition of quality assurance processes across Europe.
It plays an important role in the implementation of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

Higher education institutions and national authorities can use EQAR as a reference when selecting quality assurance agencies.
EQAR thus makes an important contribution to quality, transparency and international cooperation in European higher education.

INQAAHE (International Quality Assurance Association for Higher Education Institutions)

INQAAHE is a global network of organisations working in quality assurance in higher education.
Founded in 1991, it brings together quality assurance agencies, higher education institutions and other organisations from around the world. Its mission is to strengthen quality assurance and contribute to the continuous improvement of higher education.

INQAAHE provides a platform for international exchange, cooperation and professional development. The network promotes the sharing of knowledge, experience and good practices in quality assurance. It supports its members through conferences, workshops, publications and networking opportunities.

INQAAHE also contributes to the development of international principles and standards for quality assurance. A particular focus is placed on strengthening quality assurance systems in diverse national and regional contexts. Through its global perspective, INQAAHE fosters mutual learning and international cooperation among quality assurance organisations worldwide.
